How we built this app

This app uses one spreadsheet containing a few columns: Assignment, Materials, Due Date, Directions, Points, Comments. 1. There’s just one view in the app-- List. This view tabulates each assignment and organizes them by due date. We implemented this in the UX tab, naming the Center view “List”, making sure the Action Type was “Tabular” and that the data was sorted by the “Due Date” column. This ensures assignments are listed in order of when they are due. 2. Clicking into each item allows the user to view information about the assignment, including what kind of materials are required to complete the task as well as instructions. Clicking the little file icon in the “Materials” field allows the user to download the assignment’s file to her mobile device or desktop, depending on which version of the app they’re using. 3. The file icon is produced by choosing the “File” Field Type in the Advanced Editor > Data > Column Structure. However, including PDF files in your spreadsheet should also automatically produce the File Field Type and the corresponding file icon.
This is a preview of the data sets used in the app.
This is a high-level model of both the data entities and the UI elements in the app.
