How we built this app
We designed this app using a Google Form and then connecting it to AppSheet via the Google Forms AppSheet add-on. AppSheet recognized the form’s question types and implemented the corresponding column types in the Editor and the app. 1. We first used a Google Form to design our survey. We used several dropdown menu questions-- those are common to Google Forms and translate well to AppSheet with the add-on. 2. Page breaks (using the Show type) allow the user to navigate to the next set (page) of questions. This can be done within the Google Form itself. 3. We used a Show Field Type to display a movie trailer from Youtube. The Show type can be used for a variety of purposes. In this case, it’s used to display a static video using a Youtube embed URL.
This is a preview of the data sets used in the app.
This is a high-level model of both the data entities and the UI elements in the app.
